    Winter in Italy

    posted January 21, 2008 | archives

Want to see Italy from a different angle? Then a visit in the winter time may be in order. There are many advantages to planning your vacation during the winter in Italy:

---Hotels and airfares are cheap…many bargains to be found! ---Compared to the peak of summer season, you can often pay 1/3rd of what you normally would.

---Less crowds – no standing in line at museums, events, etc

---More cultural events like opera and theater, which are in full swing this time of year.

---Certain festivals, Christmas markets, Carnevale, can only be seen this time of year.

---Great winter sports – There are many great ski resorts in Italy, and places where you can go snowboarding, etc.

---The cuisine is different – more emphasis on creamy, long cooking sauces, wild game, etc.

So don’t let the fact that it is winter deter you from visiting Italy. You can still have a wonderful vacation and see Italy from an entirely different point of view!

After all, would Club Med put a resort somewhere that wasn’t worth visiting?...More>>
